After a tremendous downward spiral of a football season and a mediocre at best era, Bill Callahan has been removed from his position as Head Coach of the University of Nebraska Football. Let the order now truly be restored to what it used to be, one where action spoke louder then well chosen buzz words and where the measure of a coach is players with heart who simply win.

Everyday Bill Callahan is telling the world what an excellent job he is doing in every aspect of coaching. Does he think that if keeps screaming, what great job he is doing, someone will believe him? He sounds like a spoiled little kid screaming, as he is dragged to the principal’s office. I did not do it, I did not do it!
Well Bill, YOU ARE NOT doing an excellent job! How can he even say that with a straight face? Bill Callahan has destroyed Nebraska football, just like he did with the Oakland Raiders. Bill Callahan has a track record of failure. Just look at the stats, Nebraska is at the bottom of the Big 12 and the nation in most areas. How is that excellence? In high school, our football coach would tell us when the other team is talking trash; the best way to shut them up was to point to the scoreboard. Mr. Callahan look at the scoreboard. This is far from excellence.

Steve Pederson is gone. It's ashame that the Husker tradition had to suffer as it has for this to come about, but at least it's one initial step towards restoring this program to the family-based traditions that took 30+ years to develop.

Some have argued that with the contract extensions, we'll be forced to endure several additional years of this nightmarish program. Lincoln Journal Star's Steven Sipple offers up his insight and the opinion that the money is there to rid Nebraska of both Pederson and Callahan... and maybe even Perlman.
